A few thoughts shared.
“Don’t watch the clock. Do what it does, keep going!”
There are those times in life where things just don’t seem to budge in any direction. They just don’t! We feel stuck, uninspired, without solutions and almost powerless. We try to figure out what to do, how to get out of that unpleasant mood but nothing comes to mind.
Well If that happens to you, then do what …
If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.
An interesting proverb, on many levels.
On a business level It is kind of like a company’s mission, vision and values. The more clear we are on who we are, what we stand for and what our motivations are, then the more business results will flow in that direction.
In relationships with others, unless we have clearly defined views on who we are and what we believe (or not) in, we could be more easily …
Do we want to do things in life fast, or right?
Life these days seems to be all about the “instant”. Instant chats, instant food, instant results, instant this or instant that. Everything is expected to happen within seconds in the latest. If it doesn’t, than the verdict is out – the service is not good, the employee is not efficient, the friend is ignoring me, the worst has happened etc., etc., etc.
Are those justified conclusions? I don’t know. Maybe, maybe not, it would depend on a case to case basis.
But what I do know and can confirm experientially is …
“If words can bring you up, then words can bring you down”
Feeling good when praised is as illusory as when feeling bad when criticised. But both are equally real to us while experiencing them. However, when looking at a deeper level, they are both setting us for unhappiness.
They are like switch buttons.
– The PRAISE button is ON and we “feel good”.
– The CRITICISM button is ON and we “feel …
Food or Thoughts, what’s your choice?
Experts tell us what is necessary for an optimal body functioning. We have become nutritional masters on the exact proportions of the proteins to carbs to fats, and then of vitamins A to B to B6, B12 and to Zinc.
We know about a body mass index, week long fasting, and tons of exercises to help with every single part of the body.
We have different diets at hand, the Paleo, Low Carbs, Weight Watchers etc.
We try all of the above (and more) and the results are…well, sometimes there for a while but then rapidly go back to …
What is it about the truth that feels so good?
This post is not about moralising or anything similar but about simple physiological mechanics of how we as human beings respond to the truth.
Yes, you have heard that it is important to tell the truth, to be truthful towards yourself and others, etc., etc.,. All that stands, no questions about it. But maybe you haven’t heard exactly how …
Are you important?
Even if you don’t do a job that is labelled as “important”? Yes, YOU ARE!
Even if others are “smarter” than you? Yes, YOU ARE!
Even if the majority might say that you are not? Yes, YOU ARE!
Even if you are don’t …
Where has Happiness gone?
I wouldn’t be far from the truth if I were to say that THE one thing everyone is searching for in life is happiness. We may call it by different names at different times but essentially it always boils down to the same thing. Even if you don’t know what you are searching for in life, chances are, it is happiness.
Where we might differ however, is in our definition of it. For one person happiness may be green, for another red, for a third one golden, and for the fourth blue. Even if you choose a rainbow, you…
“The root of suffering is attachment.” The Buddha
What are YOU attached to? What makes you suffer?
Would you like to know what is the biggest attachments people have?
Have a guess? What could be so important to ALL of us?
Here is what I think is our greatest attachment…
